Lisa Passante

Lisa Passante

Principal

Lisa Passante graduated with a BA (Hons) in Media Arts and English before completing her PGCE in 2000. After teaching in Lincolnshire, UK for six years, Lisa relocated to China where she joined Nord Anglia Education undertaking senior leadership roles including Head of Primary and Principal in Shanghai and Beijing. A passionate advocate of lifelong learning, Lisa achieved her NPQH and Masters in Educational Leadership during her tenure in Beijing, using her research to inform continued school improvement.

Prior to joining Al Shohub Private School, Lisa was Principal of Mount Kelly School, Hong Kong. Since 2017, Lisa has also been a Lead Improvement Partner, supporting British international schools worldwide in achieving the COBIS Compliance and Patron’s Accreditation. Her educational philosophy is based around the notion that there are no limits to what each and every child can achieve, and as a school leader, sees it very much her role to facilitate these opportunities, enabling all learners to realise their dreams.

Alison Lloyd

Vice Principal

With over 12 years’ experience, Alison Lloyd was appointed as Head of Primary of Al Shohub Private School in August 2019. Alison has a proven track record of leading effective change in schools; ensuring students are given exciting, challenging and rewarding learning opportunities.

Initially inspired by the school’s vision, Alison joined the school with the passion and enthusiasm needed to drive the school forward. After completing her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2016 Alison became a qualified BSO (British schools overseas) inspector and brings with her the tools, commitment and skills to work alongside the other SLT members to develop Al Shohub into a world class learning community.

Su Boyd

Su Boyd

Head of Secondary, Designated Safeguarding Lead

Su Boyd joined Al Shohub Private School as Head of Secondary in August 2019. She has been working in education for fifteen years and this is her sixth academic year internationally. Su previously had the privilege to work at The British School in Colombo, Sri Lanka and for GEMS as Head of Middle School and as Deputy Head (Academic), as well as being a GEMS internal inspector across the family of schools. Prior to that, her time has been in schools in Leeds and Nottinghamshire in the UK.

Su’s philosophy is that every student can achieve, therefore it is our duty to inspire, facilitate and direct students on their educational journey. Su is passionate about providing experiences for the Al Shohub students that they will all be proud of: “Education is what survives when what has been learnt has been forgotten”.

Guidelines for using the bus service

Any student who travels on the bus must adhere to the School Behavioral Policy as they would at school. Students who do not adhere to the policy will be permanently excluded from the bus service.

  • It is the parents’ responsibility to contact the Bus Assistant if the student can not take the bus for any reason (e.g. illness)
  • It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure an approved adult accompanies the student at the pick-up and drop-off point at the designated time. The school bus will not wait for late students.
  • Students should sit as quickly as possible upon entering the bus, in the assigned seat.
  • Safety belts should be worn at all times on the bus.
  • Students should not stand or move while the bus is in motion.
  • Students should listen to the Bus Assistant at all times and follow instructions given.
  • Students should not distract the Bus Driver.
  • Only authorised adults are permitted to travel on the school bus.
  • Students should respect the rights and well being of all other students, the Bus Assistant and Bus Driver at all times. Bullying in any form will not be tolerated.
  • Should a student require an age appropriate booster seat this should be provided by parents in line with UAE guidelines and size specifications.
  • School bags should be stored safely under the seat and items are not left in the aisle.
  • Indecent conduct or loud, disruptive or profane language will not be permitted.
  • Play fighting and/or rough play is not permitted at any time.
  • Any damage or vandalism will be paid for by the offender(s).
  • Windows and doors are to be opened or closed only with the permission of the Bus Assistant.
  • If allowed, windows should only be opened to the indicated safety line.
  • All parts of the student’s body shall remain inside the bus at all times.
  • Pets are not allowed on the school bus under any circumstances.
  • Students should not enter or leave the bus until it has come to a complete stop.
  • The school does not have any responsibility for students once they have left the school bus at the designated drop point.
  • Any requests to change to another bus should be submitted in writing using the Bus Request Form. Please note a permanent change can only be effective depending on availability.
