Satya Klever

Satya Klever

Principal

Satya Klever has been working in education in the UAE for almost 20 years. She worked with Emirati pre-service teachers for 10 years as a Senior Lecturer of Education at the Higher Colleges of Technology before moving to the Ministry of Education as a Regional Teacher Trainer, working alongside principals and teachers in government schools and kindergartens, across the UAE. In 2014, Satya joined GEMS Education as a Senior Curriculum Manager working with a global team of educators and online consultants to develop an open access, online, world curriculum. In 2016, she took on the role of founding Vice Principal and Head of Primary of GEMS Al Barsha National Schools in Dubai, working with Emirati children in a British curriculum environment. As well as a strong presence in K-12 education, Satya contributes to UAE education at a tertiary level as an adjunct lecturer on the Master of Education programme at Middlesex University in Dubai.

Her career long interest in the educational experiences of Emirati children led Satya to complete her Master of Education dissertation looking at early literacy practices in UAE government schools, and to focus her PhD dissertation on exploring the achievement gap between Emirati students in private and government schools. As well as a strong academic background, Satya is an expert ELL practitioner and a Cambridge certified CELTA and CELTYL trainer.

Satya’s educational philosophy is the belief that all children can learn, and all children want to learn, and that a school’s job is to cultivate and perpetuate a culture of high expectations where learning comes first.
