School Trips and Visitors

There are many educational benefits of school trips:

  1. Students enjoy experiential learning, applying their knowledge and understanding of what they have learned in class, to real life situations.
  2. They learn more about their culture.
  3. They build greater bonds between students as well as students and teachers; we often see more of a student’s personality when they are outside the classroom which is always a pleasure to see.
  4. They improve students’ critical thinking skills

In addition, students learn to become more independent when outside of school, and are given additional responsibilities, particularly students of secondary age.

At Al Shohub, we are fortunate that there are a multitude of wonderful places to visit within Abu Dhabi, and as much as possible we take advantage of everything we have on our doorstep. These are just a few of the trips our students have enjoyed this year:

Qasr Al Hosn
Umm Al Emarat Park
Abu Dhabi Science Festival
Manarat Al Saadiyat
Ferrari World
Middle East Youth Expo 2020
Emirates Park Zoo

In addition, we also welcome a number of visitors to our school throughout the year, including visiting Book Fairs, inspirational speakers and theatre groups. These all help to reinforce the learning taking place in our classrooms and provide our students with unique and memorable experiences.
